8/11/09 Politeness and Popularity...

A place where I can ramble about this and that without flooding the rest of the boards.

I think that was 's2pid' actually. While I've never heard the term used vocally, I've seen it written around alot in reference to 2e'rs

as (mostly) a tourist and lurker here, I couldn't help but feel a bit left out. what about the Labyrinth Lord and B/X players? then i thought "oh I'm just a LLoser and a B/Xstard" and suddenly felt a lot better.

Yes, this forum is a place of tranquil rest and peace amid the ego storms of some boards. Let us endeavor to persevere in our attempts to maintain our universal oneness, good manners, spirit of Family and all around High culture. :?

our community is like a heavy metal concert full of life and passion while theirs is like a therapy session needing someones rules to tell them what to do.

Not me. I'm here (and Finnarvyn's) exactly because the mood is light, friendly and welcoming. I've deleted K&KA from my bookmarks because of the 'tude there. The content just isn't worth the aggravation.

I'm interested in brainstorming, rules discussion, campaign inspiration, and camaraderie. The flame wars, edition supremacy, too-serious-fat-beardism, name calling, and thread-crapping are old news. If this place ever gets like that I'll probably be off (and emotionally devastated). ;)

Just to make clear, I have never been troubled by anyone challenging an idea of mine. It's the personal attacks, rudeness and negative attitudes I don't care for.
